Ladies and Gentlemen, strap in and strap up for BOOGIE 8. Continuing at the fine home of Bruzzy's Farm in the rolling hills of Tallarook, this year's event continues the fine tradition of great tunes, top notch food, hand selected and affordable booze, free camping and train travel to and from Melbourne and good, good times. Tickets are on sale right now from www.boogie.net.au, Greville Records and Polyester in the city and Fitzroy.

Ok, band time. We love to keep it unreal on the Boogie stage and deliver a diverse and eclectic mix of the latest and greatest superstars and nobodies that our party budget can squeeze in. And this year's gang look just like this, so let's get it out in the open and on with the show.

From Austin, Texas. The future of the cosmic blues. GARY CLARK JR. Get set for the laconic, soulful, sweet tones of this amazing young man and his band of cowboy pirates as they hit the Boogie stage. He'll be here for Bluesfest and other festivals, but he will stretch it out for as long as he wants at Tallarook. Get loose.

We had these fine West Aussies ready and set to go a couple of years back before they cracked the big time, but after announcing them, duty called on foreign shores. They psychedelically promised they'd be back, and here they are……POND.

We love the Americana sounds up at Boogie, and this guy is set to win the Grammy for it this year. Please welcome, with full band in tow, JASON ISBELL. Himself a solo Boogie 4 veteran, this time Jason and band will delight all with his rockin' Southern sounds, stories and serenades.

He hit his first stage in 1957, cut his first record at age 15, went wayward and ended up behind bars. With guitar as a pal, he started writing tunes. Word got out, and soon Australia's first ever behind bars album was cut in the early 70s. Please welcome reformed man, musician, songwriter and Bidjigal man, the legendary VIC SIMMS. With a tribute record out next year, the legend of "The Loner" and Brisbane's twang champs, Halfway backing him, the legendary VIC SIMMS & THE HALFWAY ALLSTARS take to the Boogie stage.

Please welcome the hardest working blues combo in the country, CHRIS RUSSELL'S CHICKEN WALK. The dynamic duo play low down, down home, juke joint blues. Their swinging' expedition deep into the hypnotic boogie of Northern Mississippi juke joints will fit right in at Boogie.

Deep from the bowels of hell, Geelong, we deliver you THE FROWNING CLOUDS. Note perfect, fringe perfect sixties garage punk. They've got a new record out early next year. They'll be superstars come Easter.

An Australian critic recently described Canadian rising star LINDI ORTEGA as "The voice of a young Emmylou Harris just discovering Dolly Parton". Now that can't be a bad thing right? Her new album, "Tin Star" is powerful and good time stuff. She will be a discovery at Boogie. Do some research, and get ready.

BED WETTIN’ BAD BOYS are a Sydney rock band informed by classic rock, punk, power pop, mid-20s living, everyday occurrences, real stuff. Their debut album ‘Ready For Boredom’ was released last year and was called 'the greatest album of all time' by an infamous Brisbane music writer. They are as loose as Friendy's cocktail bar, so that suits us just fine.

MACHINE TRANSLATIONS' music falls happily between the musical chairs of pop and art, incorporating guitar rock, eastern instruments, fragmented loops and sing-along choruses. Their new record, 'The Bright Door" has just hit the streets. It’s unreal.

MC, Dirk and Sweetie are buddies from the beaches and suburbs of sunny Sydney, they are also a band called BLOODS. Equal parts garage, punk and 60s girl group pop, shit gonna get messy with these kids.

Melbourne’s SAINT JUDE shamelessly wear a rhythm and soul tapestry of influences on their sleeves. Drawing heavily from the Muscle Shoals and Shangri-La eras of rhythm-drenched country-soul, these cats play a sound rich in heartworn history, sung out in a mess of harmonies, guitars and bar room piano.

Brutal, hardcore, ferocious locals BATPISS are gonna rip you a new musical arsehole, but they are truly nice people. Do not be afraid, you shall be entertained.

Joining us from Nashville, meet musical partners and actual lovers, THE MASTERSONS. Sweet country sounds, harmonies and good vibes aplenty as these guys deliver the real deal to us.

Have you heard that new TEETH & TONGUE song "Good Man"? We have. We love it. And there's still a new album to come. You are gonna love Jess and her band as they turn it on at Boogie. Ladies prepare yourselves.

THE CREASES started as two dudes, Joe and Jarrod, from sunny Queensland. They spent some time messin' about with music in the haunted old house they share in East Brisbane. Shit got happening, they called up two mates, and now they are four. Rough Trade UK called and wanted to put their record out. It's all happening for these youngsters. Watch out.

Mixing old-school bluegrass with modern roots music, MUSTERED COURAGE bring the noise. Old timey sounds become party sounds as they pick, shake, strum and rattle away in all their bluegrass glory.

South Carolina's TIFT MERRITT delivers the country soul like no other sister can. Her sound reaches back to the sounds of Dusty Springfield and Bobbie Gentry to a place where Boogie dreams of. Her southern charm will delight us all when she takes to the stage. Her latest album, "Travelling Alone" is an instant classic. Indulge yourself in it, and get ready for her to transform you.

BAD//DREEMS hail from Adelaide. It’s not their fault, but they make the most if it. Like working on shit hot tunes that are already taking over the Australian rock party scene. Their sound delves into the underground Australian scene of the late 70s/early 80s and bands like The Replacements. We like that concept.

The sound of Melbourne 3 piece WARMTH CRASHES IN has been described as My Bloody Valentine covering the Top Gun soundtrack. Wow. Their shoegaze sound and state of mind is sure to get us going on a Boogie morning.

DAY RAVIES are four cats from Sydney. Jangly, dream pop. Get ready to feel them at Tallarook.

Good mates of Pond, THE BOTTLES OF CONFIDENCE are gonna kick your ass into shape on Boogie Sunday morning. It's no use hiding. These dudes will take your mind, your soul, twist it, shake it, wake it and set your life into the right zone forever.

THE OCEAN PARTY originally hailed from Wagga, the home of Wayne Carey. While they still may sleep with your wife or girlfriend, perhaps you won't make such a fuss as they are pretty bad ass songsmiths and all may be forgiven. Get ready for their fine hooks, tunes and good times.

Give it all the way up for LUKE LEGS & THE MIDNIGHT SPECIALS. They are starting to build a true fan base that stretches all the way from Geelong to Northcote. They are making the kind of sounds we love at Boogie. Laid back, kinda country, decent spirit and good players.

We recently caught STELLA ANGELICO ripping the Toff In Town apart at a residency there. Her soul star is on the rise, and we want to take it higher. People are talking. People are dancing. People are smiling. Take it over baby.

Ok, that's about it for bands. We may sneak one or two more in, but who knows? We reckon it’s a pretty sweet bunch of sounds and characters that will make the Easter Weekend vibrate like never before.

Don’t forget we have the very loose late night HILLYBILLY CLUBHOUSE for all the late night action to keep the party rolling once the music stage has shut down.

And keeping the love rolling all through the day, from the rusty old piece of metal on stage right, TRUCK DJ's will deliver, connect and instigate all you need.

Lastly, but definitely not leastly, our dear friends BOXWARS will deliver another cardboard spectacular to rival all their outstanding work of previous years. What will this year’s theme be? Stay tuned kids, and get excited.

Right, so the full line up looks very similar to this. GARY CLARK JR. (USA), POND, JASON ISBELL (USA), The legendary VIC SIMMS & The Halfway Revue, CHRIS RUSSELL'S CHICKEN WALK, THE FROWNING CLOUDS, LINDI ORTEGA (CAN), BED WETTIN' BAD BOYS, MACHINE TRANSLATIONS, BLOODS, SAINT JUDE, BATPISS, THE MASTERSONS (USA), TEETH & TONGUE, THE CREASES, MUSTERED COURAGE, TIFT MERRITT (USA), BAD//DREEMS, WARMTH CRASHES IN, DAY RAVIES, THE BOTTLES OF CONFIDENCE, THE OCEAN PARTY, LUKE LEGS & THE MIDNIGHT SPECIALS, STELLA ANGELICO and the BOXWARS spectacular.

Get tickets online or at Greville Records and Polyester City & Fitzroy.
